Drink like a local, with a few locals on an evening exploring Joburg’s best bars and pubs. You’ll start off with a shisa nyama (barbecue) at Curiocity and then hit spots like The Living Room,The Social Club, Fairview Tavern, BTJs Don Buildings, before ending off at Shakers Bar.

Take to the streets with a tour of the city with a uniquely street culture twist. We’ll head out on skateboards to trace the origins and early history of Joburg, focussing on areas like Marshalltown, Ferreirasdrop and Newtown. It kicks off from Curiocity HQ and we’ll start off with a short skate lesson for newbies.

Make Joburg your very own open-air museum. We’ll paddle through areas like Jeppestown, Maboneng, Doornfontein, Victoria Yards and Troyeville, for a day of public arts, urban living, fascinating history, amazing architecture, and plenty of fresh air.

Lace up your walking shoes and get ready to see a side of the city that usually only the locals do. We’ll start out at Curiocity before heading to the Kwa Mai Mai Traditional Healers Market, the Collector’s Treasury (the largest second hand bookstore in Africa), the Carlton Centre (the tallest building in Africa), Chancellor house (where Madela and Tambo set up their law practice) and finish off at Little Addis (Joburg’s Ethiopian Quarter).

Joburg may be an urban jungle but that doesn’t mean you can’t see some wildlife while you’re here. Take a day trip out to the nearby Pilanesberg National Park and you’ll see the Big 5 in their natural habitat.

The history of Soweto is closely tied to South Africa’s journey to freedom. Join us as we explore Soccer City, Kliptown (one of Soweto’s oldest districts), the Hector Pieterson Museum, Vilikazi Street (where both Mandela and Tutu once lived), finishing off with a traditional kota lunch and a visit to the Apartheid Museum (full-day tours).

The idea is simple – We provide you with a picnic basket containing some eating utensils and a blanket. Then, we give you 30 minutes to peruse the MarketOnMain and you can add what you like at your own cost in your baskets. Once you have purchased your food parcels of choice, we hitch a lift up to the top of Africa at the Carlton Centre building on the 50th floor, for a picnic, You are welcome to bring your own wine. Guest speakers will also give you a short talk on the City, from their perspective, 222ms above Small Street Mall.
