Your thrilling safari adventure begins early in the morning with a departure from OR Tambo International Airport. You’ll journey through the scenic Highveld and Lowveld regions of Mpumalanga, arriving at Sekekama Tented Camp by approximately 14:00. After a chance to freshen up, the excitement kicks off with a sunset game drive in an open safari vehicle across the Greater Kruger Blue Canyon Reserve. Be on the lookout for the iconic Big Five—lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo—alongside incredible wildlife like giraffes, zebras, and hippos. Sip on sundowners in the heart of the bush before returning to camp to enjoy dinner around the boma fire, sharing stories from an unforgettable first day.
Your day may unfold in one of two ways: either with an early departure for Kruger National Park and a bush breakfast along the way, followed by an earlier return, or by enjoying breakfast at the lodge before setting off and coming back later. The exact departure time will be shared with you the evening before, based on current animal activity to ensure the best possible game-viewing experience. This safari through Kruger will span approximately 7 to 8 hours, taking you deep into the Orpen-Satara region—renowned for its high likelihood of lion sightings. After an exhilarating day, you’ll return to camp with plenty of time to relax and prepare for a magical, starlit dinner around the fire.
After breakfast, it is time for good-byes and your return to Johannesburg. You should arrive back at OR Tambo International Airport around 17:00 or 18:00

KRUGER NATIONAL PARK – JOHANNESBURG
After breakfast, you will be taken to visit the third deepest canyon in the world “Blyde River
Canyon”.
It’s an easy, relaxing day trip from the Kruger National Park highlighted with fascinating and
informative information by our experienced, native guides. This vast escarpment is the sort of place where brochures and guidebooks are bereft of expressive adjectives to describe the unsullied mountain scenery and magnificent panoramic views. Viewpoints overhang cliffs that rise 600m-800m from the riverbed. The canyon extends over twenty kilometres and we’ll stop at
many breath-taking viewing points. Short walks are scheduled along precipices and longer hikes, if you’re up for it, wind through mountain rain forests teaming with exotic birds, rare flowering shrubs and towering, showering
waterfalls.
Stops and hikes at Graskop Gorge, God’s Window, Bourke’s Luck Potholes, the Pinnacle, Lisbon Falls, the Three Rondavels and other spectacular viewing points are scheduled depending on time constraints.
After our last panoramic stop you will be driven to take the late (6pm) transfer shuttle back to
Johannesburg to arrive at the airport in the late (10 pm) evening
